Shootout
Phase 1
Phase 2
Modifications
Call Your Shot: The host makes a groupchat for each team and the players may discuss who their goalie will be, who will kick, and what direction the shooter and goalie pick
- The host splits the PL into two teams, if there’s an even PL then the teams have the same number of players, otherwise one team has one less player.
- Each team will assign one player to be their goalie and this player will try to defend the goal for their team throughout the game.
- Each player will vote for which teammate they want to be the goalie (you can also vote for yourself)
- The teammate with the most votes is the goalie, and if there is a tie the host will break the tie using /pick between the players with the most votes.
- Whichever player is against the goalie at the time is called the shooter.
- Every player on each team will try to score on the opposing team’s goalie to earn a point. If one team has one less player than the other, the team with less players will have one person shoot twice to even things up.
- The goalies will shoot last for their teams.
Phase 2
- Here’s how this will play out:
- Both the shooter and the goalie will PM the host either left or right. For the shooter, this indicates where they are going to shoot the ball at the goal. For the goalie, this indicates where in the goal they are going to try and block the shot from.
- The shooter will always roll 10
- If the shooter and goalie pick different directions, the goalie will roll 5 to try and block the shot.
- If the shooter and goalie pick the same directions, the goalie will roll 20 to try and block the shot.
- If the shooter rolls higher than the goalie, they score a goal and earn a point for their team. If the goalie rolls higher than the shooter, they block the shot and the shooter’s team does not earn a point.
- The team with the most points by the time every player has gotten to shoot is the winning team, and their players will battle it out HG style to determine who wins the game (and who comes in second if enough players).
- If there is no way for the losing team to win/tie the game even if not every player has gotten to shoot yet, the host may move on
- If there is a tie by the end of the shootout, the host will !pick a random player from each team to shoot again. This process will continue until one team has more points than the other team by the time both teams have gotten to shoot at the goal the same number of times.
